Why Office Chairs And Sound Systems Are Similar
Back in the day before technology advanced to its present level if you wanted a quality sound system you bought what was known as Hi-Fi and it was always recommended whatever your total budget was for your sound system , about 70% of it should be spent on the speaker system.
And there was a good reason for this because no matter how great the rest of your system was if the speakers didn’t pass muster then neither did your system, they were quite simply the most important link in the chain.
All that super pre-amp and amplifier sound quality was sacrificed without top quality speakers to deliver the end result.
And guess what? It’s exactly the same with your office furniture. Approximately two thirds of your budget should go towards your office chair because it’s the brains behind your working experience.
Whilst it’s nice to have a top quality wood veneered desk to work at, it’s unlikely to make much difference whether you have it or a basic desk, it’s essentially a work surface, although obviously there will be significant differences in terms of finish and styling.
The same isn’t true with an office chair because it’s actively involved in what you’re doing as you move it needs to move and support you properly and healthily.
So, don’t cheat your comfort and productivity with a cheap inflexible chair, instead make your office chair the highest priority item in any new office set up.

good blog. I like the comparison because you are 100% correct. A lot of people think a chair is a chair and forget about functionality.
